From November 28th to 30th, the Romanian Society of Neurogastroenterology hosted the 9th National Congress "NeurogastRO 2024" in Iași. Held in the city for the fourth time, the event brought together over 300 participants from various specialties, including gastroenterology, internal medicine, surgery, family medicine, neurology, psychiatry, endocrinology, as well as pharmacy and dietetics. Resident doctors and medical students also actively participated in the discussions.

The scientific program featured renowned international faculty, with experts from Belgium (J. Tack), the United Kingdom (Q. Aziz, M. Corsetti, M. Albusoda, R. Rusu), Switzerland (R. Tutuian), Italy (G. Barbara, P. Fracasso), Israel (A. Sperber), and Moldova (E. Tcaciuc, N. Bodrug, V. Istrate, A. Botezatu). The event was endorsed by ESNM.

Over three days, multidisciplinary sessions explored key topics related to disorders of gut-brain interaction, including digestive pain, intestinal microbiota, novel diagnostic approaches for functional digestive disorders, the role of endoscopy in neurogastroenterology, dietary influences, and new pharmacological treatments. Additionally, the congress featured a hands-on course on impedance-pHmetry and high-resolution manometry, providing participants with practical training.

NeurogastRO 2024 once again demonstrated the growing interest and collaboration in the field of neurogastroenterology, bringing together specialists from across disciplines to advance research and clinical practice.
