The European Society of Neurogastroenterology and Motility (ESNM) is proud to host the upcoming Gut Microbiota for Health (GMFH) World Summit 2026, taking place on March 14–15, 2026, in Porto, Portugal.
Under the central theme “Diet and other ways to manipulate the gut microbiome in clinical practice,” the Summit will bring together leading experts and emerging voices from around the world to explore the latest scientific and clinical advances in microbiome research.

The scientific programme will feature plenary lectures, workshops, and interactive discussions on key topics, including:

  • The impact of diet, probiotics, prebiotics, and postbiotics on shaping the gut microbiome, including insights into ultra-processed foods, fibres, dietary exclusions, and plant-based diets.
  • New connections between diet, gut microbiota, and cardiometabolic health.
  • Practical workshops focusing on dietary management in IBD, IBS, liver diseases, and cancer.
  • Advances in microbiome-based treatments, from live biotherapeutic products and dietary interventions to fecal microbiota transplantation.
  • The role of the microbiome in cancer therapy, with a focus on strategies to enhance immunotherapy responses.

This interdisciplinary scientific meeting is designed for microbiome scientists, clinicians, nutritionists, and dietitians, fostering exchange and collaboration across disciplines.
