Congratulations on receiving UEG Rising Star Award 2026
We are proud to share that Christopher Black, a valued member of the ESNM community, has been named one of the UEG Rising Stars 2026 – an annual distinction recognising the most promising emerging scientists in digestive health.
Dr Black is a consultant gastroenterologist at Leeds Teaching Hospitals and an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Leeds, with a strong focus on disorders of gut–brain interaction, particularly irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and functional dyspepsia. His research focuses on evidence synthesis and meta-analysis, statistical modelling, personalised care in IBS, and the epidemiology of DGBI. This well-deserved recognition highlights his outstanding contribution to the field and his dedication to advancing research in neurogastroenterology. We warmly congratulate Christopher Black on this achievement and thank him for inspiring the next generation of GI professionals.
