Biennial Meeting NeurogastRO, Romania
Since 2005, the Romanian Society of Neurogastroenterology organizes biennial congresses under the name of NeurogastRO, with international participation. This year the NeurogastRO 2022 meeting was held between 24th and 26th of March in Cluj Napoca. It was organised as a hybrid event with both online and onsite participation.
It reunited both leading experts and young investigators from Romania and other European countries, actively involved in the field of digestive motility and functional gastrointestinal disorders. It constituted a great opportunity for 67 international and local faculty members to interact and exchange high-level expertise.
The event included a pre-symposium course focused on functional gastrointestinal investigations, nine scientific sessions and also an ePosters session. Hot topics such as new diagnostic tools in neurogastroenterology, gut microbiota, abdominal pain, GERD, neurogastroenterology in pediatrics and particularities of the complex relationship with other medical specialities were included in the program.
The meeting was successful, with more than 150 attendees. Participants had the opportunity to share experience and to discuss further research directions.
